A lot of work in progress
First I rewrote most of my spaghetti code. It's not by any means perfect now but it's far more manageable than it was.
Next I've been working on the UI, sound effects, getting the various menus added, and general polish.
I replaced all the purin graphics with updated ones because the originals were very low res.
The main menu I am loosely styling based on Persona 5, but with my own twist. It's actually physics-enabled so the menu items fall and settle together, and hold each other up. It gives an interesting effect.
I still have to add a lot of settings, both in terms of regular configurations and accessibility options. I know the importance of having a good options menu and don't plan to skimp on it.
A lot of bugs have been fixed, and the save/load system was replaced to use json. I figured out how to add particles when purin combine, although the current ones are just temporary (As of 2.6.1).
I have not decided on music yet, I will likely want to ask NoiR if it can use some of hers. Barring that I may ask a friend if they want to make music for it. At this point I'm sure what kind of music would be appropriate for such a game.
I still need to figure out a new visual design for the game-play area itself, what happens when you win or lose, and how to handle highscore tracking. I have an empty leaderboard page there right now, but am still debating if I want to setup an online one or not. There's a lot of networking security and anti-cheating that I'd need to implement for that to have any real worth.
And lastly I re-wrote the entire AI system, and if you train the AI yourself it'll use that AI in your games against it now. I know there are still improvements to be made to the AI but some core gameplay systems are still changing. The VS modes for instances are still very janky and I need to try some various different implementations of them that are more elegant.
